About Me

My Background

I live in Derbyshire in England with my partner, 2 children and our family dog. I first picked up a paintbrush in 2016 and discovered my love of creating art. After starting in acrylic , I progressed onto creating work in watercolour and graphite. I still love using these mediums but my first love is now pastel art using both soft Pastels and pastel pencils. I became a serious artist in 2019 and have created many pieces some which are commissioned. I challenge myself with many different subjects but without a doubt, anything with eyes is my absolute favourite whether it is a human subject, domestic animals or wildlife.

My Medium

I can work with a variety of mediums but my absolute favourite is pastel. Using soft pastel and pastel pencils not only brings colour which can be layered to create an amazing effect but the pencils allow for greater detail to be achieved which in some pieces is essential and necessary to capture the subjects beauty.

My Inspiration

The natural world is my inspiration. Everything I see , from birds and insects in my back garden to lions on the plains of Africa or sea turtles in Mauritius (all of which I have been fortunate enough to see ) all are my inspiration.
